Our Story

Our philosophy is simple: use our technical expertise and deep industry knowledge to help our clients gain significant tax savings and the greatest possible return on their investment. Led by managing director Rob Rahner, Cost Recovery Solutions (CRS) has evolved over the past 20 years into a nationally respected firm serving clients ranging from local business owners, commercial real estate investors, and accounting professionals to Fortune 500 companies throughout the United States.

The CRS story began after Rob first spent eight years gaining Big 4 accounting firm and cost segregation experience while also building an impressive portfolio of industry accreditations that confirm his commitment to excellence. In 2004, Rob capitalized on his diverse business and technical expertise to launch CRS. Over the years, he has expanded the company’s offerings to also include energy tax services, tangible asset appraisals, and fixed asset reviews that save our clients millions in taxes, improve their cash flow and realize the highest fair market value on their assets.

Comprised of a small but exceptional team of engineers, appraisers, and tax experts, CRS is headquartered in central New Jersey, with additional locations in Connecticut and central Florida. Our core values center around trust, teamwork, accessibility, a commitment to the highest standards of ethics and customer service, and giving back to our community. These principles drive every interaction we have with our clients, partners, and employees.
